• Growth is a natural human phenomenon. We expect growth in all forms of life and even in the work that we do – be it intellectual or physical. We expect that as we increase in physical years and in our life experience, we are better placed to make good choices in life. In other words, we do not expect a fully grown person to act as an infant.

• In the same way, our spiritual growth is essential if we are to fully accomplish and fulfil our destiny in the Lord. We must view our spiritual growth in the same way God looks at it and endeavour to invest and do all we can to grow and mature in our faith and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. The ways and acts of God must be known to us.

• Prayer is one of the most effective means you have to influence and change your circumstances with the Word of God as well as increasing your capacity to enhance spiritual growth.

1. 1. COLOSSIANS 1:9

“for this reason we also, since the day we heart it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask, that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.“ 

3. Lord by your Holy Spirit, change my mind and attitudes so that I can understand God’s purposes for my life. 
4. Lord Jesus I release my will to you. Bind up my will with the perfect will of God so that His Kingdom priorities will also be mine. 
5. By the fire of the Holy Ghost, I destroy every power, assigned to halt my growth in Christ.
6. Lord Jesus, thank you so much that you have made me your sheep. Therefore I only hear of voice and reject the voice of any other strange spirit.

I am a growing Christian. I refuse to be stagnant in Jesus name. I advance in Christ and increase daily in the knowledge and wisdom of God. I have the mind of Christ. My mind is able to understand and analyse issues and come to the right conclusions. I take the right decisions in all matters that concern me in Jesus’ mighty name.

“that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy.” 

1. Lord, help me to love what you love and hate what you hate.
2. I crave for a passion and hunger for God’s word and spiritual wisdom. Oh Lord, grant me the desire of my heart.
3. Holy Spirit, increase the anointing to do good upon my life.
4. I take authority in Jesus’ name over every spirit of discouragement and fear, cast it out of my spirit, mind and body and send them back to outer darkness.

I have been brought near to God by the blood of Jesus, I am a friend of God. My heart is joined to the Holy Spirit therefore I do the things that please the Father. I am anointed by God to do good, so I am fruitful in every good work. I am joyful in every situation, therefore I receive strength to overcome. The joy of the Lord is my strength.

1. Dear Jesus, I want to know you more, please help me.
2. Holy Spirit, You are the power and life of the resurrection, I surrender to your leading and guidance. 

3. I rebuke and resist the spirit of apathy and compromise and decree that you have no place in my life. 

4. I declare and decree that the power of sin is broken in my life. I am not ashamed to be associated with the Gospel of Jesus.

My sins have been forever buried with Christ and I have been raised up with Him in His resurrection power. I am joined to the Lord therefore I am one Spirit with Him. As I draw near to God, He draws near to me. The Holy Spirit is my divine Helper and Teacher. He wakens me morning by morning and teaches me to hear as the learned. I cherish and seek the Kingdom and priorities of God above all other things.

4. 1 PETER 2:1-2

“therefore laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby”.

1. Abba Father, thank you for paying the price for my life with the blood of Jesus. In view of all that you have done for me, I give you all of my worship and praise.
2. Lord, I recognise that evil and negative speaking hinders my spiritual growth in Christ therefore I totally repent and turn away from it.
3. Eternal God, it is written that two cannot walk together except they agree. Therefore I renounce and break completely, any alliance known or unknown with satan who is the father of all deception and lies.
4. Lord, I continue to pray that if there is anything in my life that draws me away from desiring your Word, let it die. Direct my steps by Your Word, and let no sin have dominion over me.

The word of God is truth and His Word is in me, therefore I speak the truth in love in Jesus’ name. Upon my tongue is the law of kindness, I speak words of love and encouragement. I cherish and desire the Word of God more than my necessary food, it is the delight of my soul. The Word of God is near me, even in my mouth and I am growing daily in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

5. EPHESIANS 3:17-19

“ that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God”.

1. By the blood of Jesus, I declare war against any spirit of lawlessness or rebellion in my heart that may cause my love for Christ to grow cold.
2. There can be no other foundation in my heart and life except the foundation of Jesus Christ, therefore I release the fire of the Holy Ghost to destroy any false foundation, as a result of wrong thinking patterns false religions and occultism.
3. By faith and by deliberate act of choice, I release anyone who has offended me or who I may have offended. Holy Spirit please erase memories of situations that may cause bitterness and hatred in my heart and help me to walk in forgiveness.
4. Lord I am so grateful and thank you that the love of God is poured abundantly into my heart by the Holy Spirit.

My God is love and His banner over me is love. I am in a love relationship with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Therefore I do not keep record of wrongs done to me. I walk the love walk, I am kind and quick to forgive. I am firmly rooted in Christ and am being built up in Him because of this even my enemies are at peace with me and I am surrounded by the glorious favour of God.
